Celebrating Thinking Differently: Landmark’s Year in Review

June 23rd, 2025

Reflections from Josh Clark, Head of Landmark School

When Apple launched the now-iconic “Think Different” campaign, they weren’t just selling computers. They were celebrating nonconformity, creativity, and the kind of bold thinking that changes the world. I’ve thought a lot about that phrase this year. At Landmark, we don’t just think differently—we teach differently, learn differently, and lead differently. And the results speak for themselves.

This year, our students didn’t just show up—they stood out.

  • They took to the stage, singing, dancing, and performing in one of our three full-scale theatrical performances.

  • They took to the field and sea, with a record number of students competing in an after school sport from cross-country to lacrosse and sailing.

  • They took to the classroom, with close to 30 juniors and seniors participating in our dual enrollment program with Endicott College.

  • Our Seniors took to the world, in our inaugural Capstone Project, finishing their Landmark experience as would be nurses, engineers, lawyers, marine biologists, and so much more.

In every classroom, on every stage, and across every grade, we witnessed the extraordinary power of learning that is personalized, purposeful, and rooted in each student’s strengths. This is what it means to celebrate the gifts of thinking differently.

Meeting the Moment: A Strategic Vision Comes to Life

The 2024-2025 school year marked the formal launch of our Meeting the Moment initiative—Landmark’s multi-year vision to elevate our mission, invest in our people and campuses, and expand what’s possible for students with dyslexia and related learning differences.

This isn’t about changing who we are. It’s about deepening our impact.

And next year, our students will see the benefits firsthand:

  • A streamlined daily schedule for fewer transitions and deeper engagement

  • An additional course to spark more curiosity and creativity

  • Tech tools that support—not shortcut—skill acquisition

  • A student-centered advisory program to foster stronger connections and intentionally prepare students for independence and agency.

And there’s more coming—because we’re not just keeping pace with the future; we’re helping shape it.

Landmark is strong. Our students remain our north star. Every decision, every innovation, every ounce of effort is guided by our commitment to them.
