Executive Function Course

Skills+ is a two-week course for middle and high school students who need to improve their organizational, time management, and other executive function skills.
This program does not explicitly develop students' literacy skills. If your student is looking for literacy support, please look at Landmark's Summer Program.
The Skills+ Student
Our Skills+ coursework is designed specifically for middle and high school students who need to:
- develop executive function strategies
- learn how to apply organizational skills across all content areas
- gain note-taking and information management strategies
Skills+ is NOT designed for students with dyslexia and other language-based learning disabilities who are seeking reading remediation.

Schedule & Format
The two-week course runs Monday-Friday from 8:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. A light snack will be offered mid-morning. Landmark teachers present executive function strategies in a structured, multi-modal format, and students have the opportunity to apply, practice, and master new skills. At the end of the course, students receive a certificate of completion and a binder full of suggested skills and proven strategies to implement during the school year.

Gaining the essential tools to learn more effectively in high school and beyond is the goal of this dynamic and results-oriented course.

- Organizing time and materials
- Planning, prioritizing, and initiating tasks
- Creating routines for work completion
- Focusing and sustaining attention
- Managing emotions
- Maximizing working memory
- Self-monitoring and task shifting
Cost: $1,900

This course offers an essential array of writing and executive function skills to give middle school students greater confidence and a competitive advantage through their middle and high school experiences.
Through this course students will learn to:
- Organize their time and materials
- Plan, prioritize, and follow through on tasks
- Set individual goals, self reflect, and monitor progress
- Actively read: follow a systematic approach before, during, and after reading (students should already be reading at or near grade level)
- Understand the building blocks of writing
- Follow a simple five-step process while writing
- Systematically proofread and edit written work
