Zoom Meeting with Campus Directors

Thursday, July 6, 7:00 p.m.
All parents and guardians are encouraged to attend this welcome meeting. We will review important aspects of the program, as well as answer any questions you may have. We will send you a Zoom meeting link the week of July 3. 

Sunday, July 9, 2023

Residential Students Move-In

  • 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. - Resident students arrive beginning at 2:00 p.m. to move in. Check-in at the registration table located at the Lopardo building. 
  • 4:00 - 4:30 p.m. - All program meetings with families, residential students, house parents, and program directors will be held in the Alexander Dining Hall.
  • 4:30 - 5:00 p.m. - Parents/guardians depart. Students check in at their houses with houseparents. Time to finish unpacking and organizing rooms.
  • 5:00 - 6:00 p.m. - Dinner time
  • 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. - Icebreaker activities and games with all residents
  • 8:30 - 10:00 p.m. - Wind down and quiet time in houses. Students can use this time to get organized for classes on Monday.

Opening Day for Day and Residential Students

  • 8:00 - 8:25 a.m. - Day student parents /guardians should drop off students at the Alexander Building. Students will then proceed through the following schedule after parents depart. 
  • 8:30 - 8:45 a.m. - Welcome address for all students by program directors in Alexander Dining Hall 
  • 8:45 - 9:15 a.m. - Campus tour with Academic Advisors
  • 9:15 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. - Academic classes
  • 1:00 - 1:35 p.m. - Lunch in the Alexander Building. Students who are not participating in after-school activities may stay for lunch and study hall or can be picked up at this time.  
  • 1:35 – 2:45 p.m. - Orientation activities on Alumni Field. Mandatory for extended day students (incl. after-school activity) and optional for day students. Students will be led by Landmark staff through a series of fun activities designed to help students engage with one another in this new setting. 
  • 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. - After-school activities
  • 5:00 p.m. - Pick up for day students participating in after-school activities

Daily Schedule

The Summer Program will be held Monday – Friday

  • 8:30 a.m. - 1:05 p.m. - Four, one-hour academic courses
  • 1:05 p.m. - 1:35 p.m. - Lunch
  • 1:40 p.m. - 2:40 p.m. (Mon - Thurs) - Study Hall 
  • 2:40 p.m. - Dismissal for academic day students, return to houses for residents
  • 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. (Mon - Thurs) - afternoon activities for extended day students and residents
  • 5:00 p.m. - Dismissal for extended day students, residents enjoy dinner and evening activities with houses

Day students must notify their academic advisor or the dean of students if they plan to stay for dinner and evening activities

There are no after-school activities on Fridays.

After-School Activities

After-school activities will take place Monday through Thursday from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m.

For day students, please plan to pick up each day at 5:00 p.m. at the following locations: 

  • Digital Photography & Visual Arts: Art Building (412 Hale Street, top of the hill)

  • Marine Explorations: Swalm Science Center (429 Hale Street, follow driveway to the end)

  • Group Fitness: Alexander Building (412 Hale Street, same location as morning drop-off)

  • Sea Kayaking/Paddleboarding: Governor’s Landing (429 Hale Street, follow driveway to the end) 

Materials will be provided for digital photography and visual arts. Students participating in Sea Kayaking and Paddleboarding should dress appropriately for the ocean: swimsuits, sneakers or crocs, sunglasses/hat, and a towel are recommended. Group Fitness participants should be in athletic clothing. Marine Science participants should be prepared to get in the water; snorkeling gear and wetsuits will be provided and kept on site. 


Transportation

Transportation is the responsibility of parents/guardians. If interested in receiving the carpool directory via email, please indicate "Yes" under the carpool section of the release form. Car requests must be submitted to Scott Blanchette, [email protected], prior to arrival.

  • Sign in to the Family Portal
  • Your dashboard should open to a screen like the one below. It should automatically be on "School Home" (from the left-hand navigation). In the "Announcements" section in the middle of the screen, you will find the link to the Carpool Directory.

School Supplies

All students are asked to bring a backpack with a binder and an assortment of pens, pencils, and highlighters. Students are welcome to bring a laptop, or they can use a computer provided by Landmark.

Academic Advisors and Student Schedules

Each family will be assigned an Academic Advisor who will oversee their student's schedule and daily tutorial. Student schedules will be completed during the week of July 4, and Academic Advisors will be in touch in order to schedule a phone call or online meeting during that week.

Summer Conference Day

Thursday, August 3, 2023 - Meet your child's teacher and get an update on your student's progress. Scheduling information will be sent at the beginning of the program.
