Landmark Alum Alexis Sutaria ’25 Featured on Magazine Cover

July 7th, 2025

Landmark School alum Alexis Sutaria ’25 has been recognized for his artistic talent with the selection of his piece Afro-Flowers as the cover art for the July/August 2025 issue of Reclaiming Children & Youth (Vol. 58, No. 4). The vibrant and expressive image, praised for its stunning color and composition, is currently on display in the Landmark School library. It can also be viewed online through Sage Publishing.

Alexis, who will attend the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) this fall, created Afro-Flowers by first sketching in pencil, outlining with fine-liner pens, and completing the work with alcohol-based Copic markers. “I am interested in the vibrance and moods of different colors and the creative process of visual art,” Alexis shared.

As a student with dyslexia, Alexis has embraced his language-based learning difference while excelling in the arts, and his recent recognition highlights both his creativity and resilience.
