Hitting the Big Stage
April 16th, 2025
In April, Landmark senior, JR Sasso, made his Boston Lyric Opera debut in the production of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Carousel at the Emerson Colonial Theater. JR has been a devoted and passionate member of the Landmark Stage Company since his freshman year.
With most regional theater companies, performers typically must be at least 18 years old unless cast in a specific "child actor" role. JR was cast at just 17 years old as Enoch Snow, Jr., working under the direction of the esteemed director, Anne Bogart. This year marks the 80th anniversary of the show, which originally premiered in that very same theater before heading to Broadway in 1945.
This fall, JR will be attending Nazareth University to pursue a BFA in Musical Theater.
