On the Job: Unlimited Possibilities
April 18th, 2025
In early April, Landmark High School students, some of whom are taking woodworking and others who have expressed an interest in this elective, got to experience the creme de la creme of custom millwork. Mark Richey Woodworking, located in Newburyport, Mass. hosted students and their teacher, Doug Turnbull, at their massive facility to see the impressive operation. Mark Richey's craftspeople are a team of top-tier professionals fabricating installations for performing arts centers, museums, corporate headquarters, academic institutions and restaurants across the country.
Doug Turnbull said of the experience, "The work coming out of the Mark Richey Woodworking is truly one-of-a-kind. The students were inspired by the possibilities of what this level of craftsmanship can make possible. Experiences like this open our students' eyes to the potential of careers in hands-on trades that are both functional and artful."
