A Tide of Excitement
August 24th, 2022
A thrill of excitement and anticipation rippled through the High School campus as teachers gathered to begin training. Old friends and colleagues gathered with a cup of coffee in hand, chatting about their summers and adventures near and far. They then settled into beach and lawn chairs scattered about the gym floor, a nice change from sitting on the hard bleachers, and a true reflection of the ease with which this eager group has come together. As though they were just popping down to the beach for a hang.
Head of the High School Bill Barrett welcomed all High School faculty and staff and talked about resilience, recovery, and joy.
Scott Jamieson introduced the High School’s 21 new teachers, who have already been in 3 weeks of training, as part of Landmark’s Teacher Residency Program.
Ariel Martin-Cone, High School Academic Dean, spoke about the unique opportunity before each teacher, "Landmark teachers are the foundation of an exceptional school that, for many students, is a once-in-a-lifetime chance to alter their educational journey."
As the tide of a new school year creeps in, we are ready to guide our students on an amazing voyage!
