- Physical Education Department HeadJob Type: Full-time
Description
The Physical Education Department Head (PEDH) is responsible for providing leadership to ensure that all students and faculty involved in Landmark’s PE Program are having a compelling learning experience that is reflective of LMK’s mission and values. The successful PEDH must be always thinking about the PE Department, program, and how course offerings can best serve our evolving “Portrait of a Graduate.” Landmark views PE as a vitally important classroom for developing skills, habits, and confidence.
Landmark’s Incoming PEDH Will Be Committed To…
Overseeing and enriching the student experience — and encouraging student participation in PE offerings wherever possible.
Guiding and inspiring the PE Department members in aspiring to provide excellence in their teaching and management of their classes.
Modeling and leading by example for the rest of the department while teaching 2–3 sections of PE.
Representing the purpose of the PE Program to the rest of the faculty, current and prospective students and parents, and new candidates for the department.
Perpetuating a culture reflective of Landmark’s mission, vision, and values and commitment to excellence.
At Landmark, success is defined by how we can get each student to flourish in every aspect of their experience — and about developing those interpersonal skills — collaboration, respect, and empathy — that are so often fostered in physical education experiences.
The PEDH works closely in concert with the Director of Athletics and reports to the Academic Dean.
