- Toddler Assistant Teacher (Temporary)Job Type: Full-time
Description
Job Summary: Tot Spot is hiring an assistant toddler teacher/toddler teacher for a maternity leave which will span August -
December 2025. This position is 40 hrs a week with a salary which is commensurate with certification/experience. The perfect candidate is a natural nurturer who understands toddler development and has experience with all the fun that this group of tots brings to the day.
The assistant teacher works with the classroom team to coordinate and carry out daily routines. The assistant teacher is responsible for maintaining supportive relationships with the children, the parents and each co-worker, including volunteers and students.
Supervisor(s): Lead teacher, Director
Start Date: August 4, 2025
Hours: Full time (40hrs/week) combination of 7:30 a.m.–3:30 p.m., 7:45 a.m.–3:45 p.m. and 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.

Salary: commensurate with certification/experience
Requirements
- Assist the Tot Spot team in maintaining a welcoming, healthy and safe environment
- Create positive relationships with children and their families which are focused on providing a caring and learning experiences
- Participate actively with children during free play, outside play, snack/lunch, and activity times
- Adhere to all policies and procedures in the staff manual, the Landmark School Employee Handbook and the Tot Spot Parent Handbook and Health Care Policy
- Continue with professional development as dictated by the Department of EEC
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism inside and outside of the center
- Demonstrate professional behavior inside and outside of center
- Work cooperatively with co-workers. Ask for and/or offer assistance and direction as needed
- Attend and participate in staff and team meetings
- Take an active role in center wide activities
- Report supply/equipment needs to a supervisor in a timely manner
- Additional duties as assigned by the lead teacher or director
