Carrie, The Musical
November 14th, 2022
During the week of Nov. 8, Landmark's Performing Arts Department found themselves in a predicament. Tickets to the upcoming performance of Carrie, The Musical were going fast so the faculty, cast, and crew decided to open dress rehearsal to students and faculty for a behind-the-scenes look at the process before opening night.
The content of Carrie is naturally provocative and while most attendees had an idea of what the show was about, the cast and crew did not disappoint with strong vocal and acting performances, and exciting technical and analog effects that included a real bucket of theatrical blood getting dumped on Carrie's head (Summer O'Sullivan '23). The technical theater crew masterminded an ingenious seating plan where attendees sitting in seats flanking the stage felt like they were part of the performance. Four full houses were entertained by this iconic show filled with drama, emotion, and mystery.
