A Wonderful Holiday Open Mic Night
December 20th, 2020
The Landmark High School Performing Arts department hosted its first virtual Holiday Open Mic Night on December 17.
The Performing Arts Department normally hosts an annual Holiday Concert, but this year it staged a different type of show. A snowy scene played in the background of a holiday-themed set where Mr. Efinger, Performing Arts department head, stood in his holiday best, complete with red suede shoes. Mr. Haywood, Technical Theater teacher, donning a festive red hat, perched in the Command Center to help run the show. Students, parents, teachers, alumni, and friends gathered on Instagram Live as Mr. Efinger and Mr. Haywood opened the show with popular holiday tunes. They then invited participants, one at a time, to share the screen and their own musical talents. Current students, teachers, and several alumni all performed! Not only was it impressive to hear the talents of our community, but it was also fun to see friends, old and new, online! We hope this is a new holiday tradition that will endure!
Check out this photo of just a few of our performers!
