EMS Dyslexia Awareness Day
November 1st, 2021
On Friday, October 29, 2021, Mrs. Andrew organized an EMS campus-wide “dress-down and wear red” day to observe October’s Dyslexia Awareness month.
Mrs. Andrew and other members of the Massachusetts Decoding Dyslexia group lobbied Governor Charlie Baker, requesting him to declare October as Dyslexia Awareness Month to increase public awareness and improve the outcomes of students with dyslexia in the state's schools. Their efforts were realized in 2013, when the governor issued an official proclamation.
