COVID and Me Art Contest Winners

This winter, in place of the annual Winter Photo Contest, Landmark School participated in a contest sponsored by the World Awareness Children's Museum in New York state called COVID-19 and Me: Changes in My World.

"It was a truly different year and and we wanted to give our students an outlet to express their feelings about the pandemic and how it was affecting them. The jury and I were so impressed with the quality of the work. Selecting just one piece on each campus was challenging," said Susan Tomases, Director of Marketing and Communications at Landmark School. 

A jury of faculty and staff members representing the Administration, Elementary•Middle School (EMS), and High School reviewed the artwork and selected their top three pieces. A finalist from each of Landmark's campuses emerged. 

Aila Bolduc's colored pencil drawing won at the EMS and Elijah Kline's pen-and-ink drawing was the High School winner. Each student will receive a $100 cash prize sponsored by the Marketing and Communications Department. 

Landmark was only one of 10 schools nationwide selected to participate. 14 students at the Elementary•Middle School and 19 High School students submitted artwork in a variety of two-dimensional media from photography to charcoal drawing. 

The World Awareness Children's Museum additionally chose 52 pieces of the 270 total entires to be included in their permanent collection. 10 of these were selected from the 33 pieces that Landmark submitted.
