Description
Position: Information Technology (IT) Coordinator
Location: Landmark Elementary•Middle School, Manchester, MA
The Information Technology (IT) Coordinator will work with Landmark’s Director of Technology and the Educational Technology (ET) Coordinator to plan for, implement, and oversee the technology at Landmark’s Elementary•Middle School. The IT Coordinator will report directly to the Director of Technology but will also work closely with the Campus Head to ensure the tech needs of the campus are being met. This is a full-time 12-month position and will begin immediately.
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:
Advocacy
- ensure staff and students can effectively access the technology they need to meet their responsibilities
- communicate technology needs of the campus with the Director of Technology
- communicate with the ET Coordinator about classroom practices and integrating computer competencies into the curriculum
Support and Training
- collaborate with the ET Coordinator to maintain high availability and responsiveness in tech support to students and staff
- work with campus leaders to design and implement technology training for students and staff
Users and Platforms
- manage student and staff user accounts for EMS, including on-boarding/off-boarding, privileges, group membership, password management
- maintain the readiness of integral computer-based platforms for students and staff and manage student and teacher-based tech subscriptions
Device Management
- manage the purchase, set-up, repair, updates, configuration, and inventory of end-user devices at EMS, including classroom computers, projectors, laptops, Chromebooks, printers
- assume primary responsibility for such day-to-day management and collaborate with the Director of Technology on broader management, including budgeting, life-cycle, and security for these devices
Technological Infrastructure and Systems Administration
- collaborate with the Technology Director to monitor technological infrastructure and systems at EMS, including phones, internet service, WiFi, firewalls, content-filtering, cameras, servers
- communicate issues and act as the first on-site team member in troubleshooting
Events
- assist with the use of technology in educational presentations, inservices, special events, and outreach
Teach
- teach two sections of a tech-related elective to elementary and middle school students, such as computer repair, coding, etc.
Requirements
- familiarity with a Macintosh environment
- understand computer networks, hardware, and software
- strong organizational skills
- demonstrate flexibility with colleagues
- enjoy working in a mission-driven educational community
- ability to clearly explain technology concepts
- ability to troubleshoot a variety of tech-related issues efficiently
- desire to investigate and understand new technologies
