landmark high school performing arts play

Performing Arts

The Performing Arts department at Landmark School provides our students with the opportunity to participate in Dance, Music, Drama, and Technical Theater in a variety of ways and times throughout the school year. During the school day, we offer classes in all of those areas as electives and all are also offered as after-school activities.

Ways for Students to Perform

  • Three plays a year (including a dinner theater in the winter and a musical in the spring)
  • The Evening of Dance in February
  • Chorus concerts in December and May
  • Solo Night in November
  • Monthly student-led Coffee Houses

Students build the sets and run the sound and lights for all of these shows. We also work with students who would like to arrange for additional private voice or instrument lessons.

Our program is open to all of those who would like to participate, regardless of their experience or training, and everyone who wants to participate will be given a role or responsibility of their own. The faculty of our department believes that what we do is at the heart of Landmark’s mission to give our students the skills they need to reach their full potential because all of the skills they learn in the classroom - from reading strategies, study and memorization techniques, to executive functioning and planning skills - are utilized everyday in multi-sensory manner in our programs.

Our mission is to give the students in the Performing Arts program the opportunity to believe in themselves and each other, take risks, create performances of depth and creative meaning, and have fun doing it.
