Block Printing Enrichment

May 3rd, 2022

What do styrofoam and ink have in common? More than you would think!

This week, Miranda Aisling, Education Manager from Cape Ann Museum, designed a program for the Landmark Elementary students centered around block printing. The students are learning about Virginia Lee Burton and the Folly Cove Designers. Prior to this workshop, the classes all read Burton's The Little House, and some read additional stories like Mike Mulligan and His Steam Shovel

This program is part of a series of enrichment events at EMS this spring and fall made possible by a gift from the Held family P'29. Other programs included the recent Afro-Brazilian Ensemble through Young Audiences of Massachusetts, special themed milkbreaks, and other enhancements for students yet come!
