Here's How
Dyslexic minds deserve an education as remarkable as their thinking. Students thrive in Landmark School’s literacy ecosystem designed just for them—in every class, with every teacher, every day.
How We Teach
The Landmark Language-Based Learning Model
Landmark’s approach combines intensive, evidence-based language remediation with comprehensive skill application and authentic problem solving—creating confident, independent learners who understand and leverage the way they learn. Learn more about how we teach.

Landmark's Six Teaching Principles™
Traditional teaching often relies on students figuring out how to learn. The Six Teaching Principles make the invisible visible—explicitly teaching not just what to learn, but how to learn it.
What Makes
the Magic?
Custom-Built for You
No two Landmark students are the same—and neither are their programs. Every student’s learning plan is intentionally designed to build on strengths, spark interests, and directly address areas of need.
Our approach is language-based, skills-based, and rooted in direct, explicit instruction in every class, with every teacher, every day. This is not a one-size-fits-all model. It’s education designed with purpose—and it works.
Expert Faculty
At Landmark, every teacher is a language teacher.
Our faculty are deeply trained in evidence-based, structured literacy and explicit executive functioning instruction. One hundred percent of our teachers either hold or are working toward an advanced degree.
New faculty complete our Teacher Residency Program, developed in partnership with Boston University’s Wheelock College of Education & Human Development. This immersive training ensures that every Landmark teacher becomes an expert in how our students learn—and how to help them thrive.

Individualized Tutorial
A defining part of Landmark's academic program is the tutorial personalized for each student. While our reading instruction shares the scientific foundation of approaches like Orton-Gillingham, Wilson, or LiPS, our faculty aren’t limited by a single method. This flexibility allows for a custom-built program to meet the individual needs of each student. Our program is grounded in the science of reading and structured literacy.

Small Classes
Learning happens best when students are known.
With class sizes of six to eight, teachers can adjust pacing, content, and instruction in real time. Expert literacy instruction is woven into every subject, every day—creating consistency, confidence, and momentum across the academic experience.
Advisory Program
Every student needs someone in their corner.
Students meet regularly with their Advisory group, led by a faculty member who knows them well. Advisors serve as a steady presence—coach, advocate, and guide—helping students build skills, reflect on progress, and navigate challenges.

Engaged Students
When families inquire about Landmark School, we invite them to picture a community of curious, thoughtful, and engaged students—young people who are bright and eager to succeed in a school designed for them.
Our students come from across the U.S. and around the world. They have a wide range of interests, care deeply about one another, and are learning innovative, evidence-based ways to understand and manage their language-based learning disability..

Time for the Fun Stuff
Students who struggle in school too often miss out on the experiences that make school joyful.
At Landmark, academics are just one part of a full, vibrant life. Visual arts, athletics, performing arts, community service, trips, and leadership opportunities are not extras—they’re essential. These experiences help students discover interests, build confidence, and grow into engaged, self-assured young adults.
