Welcome to the 2026–2027 Academic Year!
This page is a one-stop resource for important details about what you and your student need to know about the start of the school year. This page will be updated throughout the summer to include more information.
To Dos
2026-2027 T-Shirt Size
We're planning next year's community events and need your help! Please provide your child's t-shirt size so they can join in style. We'll be ordering Gildan Unisex shirts, which may shrink after washing. Since kids grow throughout the year, consider ordering a size larger.
Please submit your student's size no later than July 1.
EMS Athletic Sign Up Form, 2026-2027
In order to gauge your student's interest in athletics for the 2026-2027 academic year, please fill out this form.
Key Start of School Dates
Thursday, August 13, 2026: Welcome Day for New Students
- Elementary Welcome Day (grades 2-5): 9:00–10:00 a.m.
- Middle School Welcome Day (grades 6-8): 1:00–2:30 p.m.
Monday, August 31: Opening Day
Opening Day for ALL Elementary•Middle School Students from 7:45 a.m.–12:00 p.m. (campus opens at 7:15 a.m.)
Parent/Guardian Coffee Reception for all EMS parents/guardians at Tuck's Point from 8:00–10:30 a.m. - Registration coming later this summer.
Tuesday, September 1: Full day of classes (bring backpack and water bottle, school supplies provided)
Friday, September 4: Early Release Day
Monday, September 7: No school (Labor Day)
Tuesday, September 8: Full day of classes

A Few More Things
School Supplies
For the 2026-2027 school year, Landmark Elementary and Middle School will provide students with all school supplies except backpacks and water bottles. Personally purchased supplies are welcome but not necessary. Students should bring their backpacks to the first day of classes, September 1. They will not need backpacks for Opening Day on August 31.

Metro West Van
A parent-coordinated van service coming from MetroWest has spots available for fall 2026. The Elementary-Middle School van stops in Newton and Lexington. Please contact the parent coordinators for more information and availability. For the Elementary-Middle School van please email: Bridget Dutton (Lexington) or Karen Gage (Newton).
