History of Landmark School
We opened our doors with 40 students and a small group of teachers on one campus in Prides Crossing, Massachusetts. Today we serve 470 students on two North Shore campuses with a faculty and staff of 320. One hundred percent of our graduates are accepted to college, and 94% attend, an accomplishment many of our students never imagined.
Landmark Celebrates 50 Years
Founded in 1971
Landmark School was founded in 1971 by visionary Dr. Charles “Chad” Drake to educate students whose reading, writing, spelling, and math skills did not match their superior thinking and problem-solving capacities. Most called these children dyslexic or learning disabled. Chad saw their promise, and called them bright and capable.

Reaching Beyond our Doors
Soon after the school was founded, we established the Landmark School Outreach Program to provide professional development consulting, workshops, and in-person and online courses for educators around the country and the globe so that they can share our proven, research-based methods and strategies with their students.
Today we are recognized internationally as a leader in the field of language-based learning disabilities.
