Over 1700 Pounds of Food Collected for Open Door

Tuesday, November 22, 2016

Before the Thanksgiving break in November the Student Council organized a food drive for the Open Door Food Pantry in Gloucester. Non perishable food was purchased and collected in hallways, kitchens, cars, and offices two weeks. The residents of Porter House collected the most food and won the student competition, and the Expressive Language Department won the faculty competition. Honorable Mention went to Williston House and Lopardo 1 for the variety of their food donations. All in all, the high school community donated 1741 pounds of food this year helping to provide for many local families in need. Learn more about the Open Door Food Pantry to see how you can help.
