EMS Student's Art Headed for National Competition
The artwork of six students from Landmark Elementary•Middle School is on display in the Massachusetts Art Education Association Youth Art Month Show at the State Transportation Building in Boston from February 5 through March 27. The building is open weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (It is closed on weekends.)
The work of sixth-grade student Louis was selected to move on to the national exhibit. His piece will be displayed at the National Art Education convention at the end of March in Seattle, WA. He is representing all sixth grade students from Massachusetts at the national level.
The state-level program is sponsored by the Massachusetts Art Education Association (MAEA) and is part of Youth Art Month (YAM), a national celebration held each year during March, that emphasizes the value of art education for all children and encourages support for quality art programs in schools.
