Slam Jam 2012 was a fundraiser to benefit an orphanage in Honduras - one of the 9 homes of Nuestros Pequenos Hermanos. This spring, the students at EMS chose to sponsor a 9 year old boy named Carlos at NPH Honduras. They committed to raising $365 for the sponsorship, to help pay for Carlos' food, clothing, and education. The Slam Jam was one of the 3 fundraisers planned this spring.
For two dollars per player, middle school students and teachers formed teams for a 3 on 3 basketball tournament. Elementary students competed in a knockout competition. The event raised $427! This money will go toward our sponsorship of Carlos and the extra will go into a birthday fund, to help pay for birthday parties and gifts at the orphanage.
