EMS Adults with Dyslexia Presentation

On Tuesday, April 27, Landmark School 7th and 8th grade students experienced a presentation from four adults who struggle with dyslexia. Speakers included Dr. Matthew Schneps of the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics, Alison Hoyt '85 event planner, Chris Cronin '85 building developer, and Kent Sinclair P'13 partner at Seyfarth Shaw LLC.

Speakers shared personal stories of what it felt like to grow up with a learning disability, how they overcame their challenges, and how they use their learning difference as an advantage today. Their message was consistent and positive and they urged students to take their studies seriously, continue to work hard, and have confidence that every day gets easier. The skills they are learning at Landmark School will insure success later in life. Students were very interested in the presentations and asked constructive and thoughtful questions.

Great event! Even my son who tends to be over-critical, and doubtful had to admit that it was an interesting and enjoyable addition to his day! I am sure it left him with a postitive outlook.

THANK YOU!!!
