Athlete of the Week

Ethan S.
At the twelve game mark, Junior and Newton native, Ethan S. leads the boy’s varsity basketball team in scoring averaging a solid 17.6 points per game. While scoring is always welcome, Ethan brings much more to the table than points alone. A sure ball handler with excellent speed and court vision, Ethan is relied upon to distribute the ball to others, play tough defense and pull down rebounds. He has excelled in all phases of the game. Ethan's stats for last week were impressive. In the 56-52 win over Berwick he racked up 23 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. In Friday’s 62-49 victory over Chapel Hill-Chauncy Hall he tabbed 12 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists. Most of those assists were down the stretch where he fed Ian G. for some clutch late game points. Coach Winslow says "Ethan is a diligent worker on both sides of the ball and offensively he's our catalyst for almost everything we do."
The boys basketball team looks to finish strong as they head toward the EIL Tournament at Concord Academy at the end of the month.
