Baseball Wins on Senior Day
May 17th, 2023
Hello Baseball Fans!
Your local ball club has qualified for the EIL Championship Tournament! They punched their ticket yesterday afternoon at a windy and dusty Cooney Field by defeating Beaver Country Day 6-0! Laz G. dominated from the mound by pitching a complete game shutout!
The boys will take on Portsmouth Abbey on Saturday at Pingree at 10:00 a.m. If they win, they will play at 3:00 p.m. verse the winner of Pingree and Berwick. This is a noteworthy accomplishment. Finishing in the top four does not happen every year.
A big shout out to the parent group for their support yesterday and for the great set up they provided the seniors (and everyone!). In particular, thanks to Jennifer D. for organizing it all and creating great posters of all the seniors as well as banners, placards, cake, cookies, and pizza for after the game!
Lastly, yesterday we were also made aware that the team has qualified for the New England Small School Baseball Tournament and has been awarded a home game verse Wheeler School from Rhode Island. The team is set to host this game on Monday at Cooney at 4:30 p.m. It would be awesome to see a big fan base out to support these guys!
Thanks to Mr. Sumner for the write-up!
