Landmark Wrestlemania
February 16th, 2022
On a cold mid-February Saturday, Landmark hosted the Eastern Independent League (EIL) Invitational Wrestling Tournament. After many years of taking a break from hosting and set-backs from COVID-19, it was great to be back on the mats with friends from other schools. The day was filled with spirit and sportsmanship with over 100 athletes participating and roughly 160 matches contested.
Several Landmark students qualified for the New England Championships at Deerfield Academy which will take place on Saturday, Feb. 23. These students are: Josh Bickford '22, Aya Colon '25, Molly Nadeau '23, Blade Spataro '23, Sophia Vasil '23, Aidan Warren '22, and Logan Wheeler '23. Well done to you all and well done to all of our wrestlers who participated so consistently and enthusiastically all season long.
Thanks to participating schools:
Beaver Country Day
Chapel Hill Chauncy Hall
Concord Academy (2021-22 EIL Champions)
Eagle Hill School (invitee and 2022 Tournament Champs)
Lexington Christian Academy
Marianapolis Prep School
Portsmouth Abbey School
And a very special thank you to head coach Nate Efinger and assistant coaches Dave Hammond, Bruce Miller, and Mari Rivera. And we could not have pulled off a day with this many moving parts without: Ben Dubrueil '25, Patrick Griffin, Zach Hardy, Nate Haywood, George Lynch, Andrea Meade, Mike Murphy, Tom O'Riordan, and Cindy Spreer. Thank you!
