The Eric Alexander Memorial Library was established in October
1995, by Joan and Stanford Alexander, of Houston, Texas, in
honor of their son, a 1983 graduate of Landmark High School.
The Library, located in the Alexander Academic Center, provides
the school community with access to information in both traditional
and emerging formats. With an ever-expanding print collection
of over 8000 reference and circulation materials and a DVD/Video
collection of 300, the Library continues to represent and
parallel the curriculum. In addition to assignments and research,
the students are encouraged to use the library for recreational
reading and learning. A bank of wireless computers accommodates
the application of online research and information through
the Internet and electronic databases.
The Charles Harris Reading Room is the professional library
for teachers and educational specialists. The collection consists
of books, monographs, and academic journals, which correspond
to historically significant and contemporary issues pertinent
to education, learning differences, and current adolescent
issues. The acquisition of print materials is driven by the
postgraduate research and scholarship of teachers and visiting
educators.
