Congratulations to Freshman, Joseph S. on being selected as a finalist in the 15th Annual Teen Poetry contest at Beverly Public Library. Joseph's work was chosen from over 400 entries was was read at a ceremony on Monday, April 25, 2011.
Fading Away
Losing a half,
Is losing a whole
The pain I have makes
The nights, cold and lonely
The days, still and pain filled
Metals make the sun seem dull
Flowers lose their will to drink
Mirrors forget how to reflect
As the sand from the broken
Hourglass slips away
From our world
I, like the sand
Diminish . . .
