The Eric Alexander Memorial Library was established in October, 1995, by Stanford and Joan Alexander, of Houston, Texas, in honor of their son, a 1983 graduate of Landmark High School.
The Library, located in the Alexander Academic Center, has an ever-expanding print collection of reference and circulation materials, a curriculum-driven DVD/Video collection, and subscriptions to electronic databases.
The Charles P. Harris Reading Room, the professional library for teachers and educational researchers, consists of both current and historically significant books and academic journals, with a focus on learning differences.
C.A.R.D. Catalog: The Carol Ann Roberts Dumond Catalog allows users to browse the collections in the Eric Alexander Memorial Library and the Charles P. Harris Reading Room. There are also links to the databases EBSCO & MBLC, The Beverly Public Library, search engines, and citation sites.
CREDO
Through a generous donation from the Parent's Association, Landmark has a 14-month subscription to Credo Reference. A 2012 Library Journal reference winner, Credo Reference is an easy-to-use-tool for research projects and homework. Its online collection provides access to hundreds of encyclopedias, dictionaries, thesauri, quotations and subject specific titles as well as 200,000+ images and audio files and nearly 100 videos.
What's unique about Credo is its ability to customize cross-reference and related searches. Non-fiction print and visual resources such as videos and images, music subjects, databases such as EBSCO and Gale Cengage, and Landmark's own library catalog can be searched at the same time. Results are sorted by subject, entry type, and publication date, and users have the option to print, cite and save information. Credo has clear and easy navigation, visual concept maps for searches, remote access, and can host unlimited simultaneous users. Not only is this a remarkable resource for the students, but faculty and parents can take advantage of Credo Reference as well.
