Charles “Charley” Harris has been an integral
part of the Landmark School landscape since its founding in
1971. As Landmark's first Assistant Headmaster, Charley helped
set the course for the school, and today remains a steadfast
guardian of its mission. Over the years, Charley has served
the school in numerous roles as fund raiser, financial aid
counselor, liaison to the regulatory and accreditation agencies,
and Director of Personnel.
An extraordinary wordsmith, Charley has served as the school’s
writer, editor, and grammatical expert for as long as anyone
can remember. His wisdom, gentleness, integrity, and strong
advocacy for children have been a source of sustenance for
Landmark for over three decades.
By naming Landmark's Planned Giving Program after him, we
seek to affirm and perpetuate these ideals. The Charles P.
Harris Society offers alumni, parents, grandparents, and friends
of Landmark School the opportunity to invest in Landmark’s
future. Many generous individuals support Landmark School
through annual and special contributions. Planned gifts, however,
strengthen the school's financial foundation, providing funds
to fuel innovation and safeguard essential services during
uncertain economic times. In return, planned gifts also provide
significant benefits for donors. Bequests, Charitable Gift
Annuities, Charitable Remainder Trusts, or naming Landmark
as partial beneficiary of your Retirement Plan can provide
significant tax benefits to you while assisting Landmark in
the process. Our Development Staff will work closely with
you and your financial advisor to identify the plan that is
right for you and facilitate your involvement.
