AMAZING PROGRESS

Week 21:
The gym erectors began installing the exterior siding this week and have completed the north wall and part of the front wall. The building color is consistent with the Prep next door and clearly will fit into the Landmark building color scheme. The masons made very impressive progress with interior walls allowing visitors to walk into actual rooms. The layout is very impressive and far beyond the dreams of those who have spent years using the old high school gym. Plumbers have installed major piping throughout the space and the sprinkler company began running their piping. HVAC contractors began installing heating ducts in the office section and began installing the major trunks feeding the fitness and wrestling rooms. The excavators have installed the first underground pipes that will bring all storm water from the gym property to the area next to the Prep tennis court. Electric wiring and conduits appeared in new areas each day. Specification approvals and resolution of many minor issues continues with the construction team. Heat from a large propane furnace is heating the enclosed conventional building space and there is definitely more light each day and the hope for spring and warmer weather. Hopefully the snow storms hitting the mid Atlantic states will stay clear of New England but with roof systems in place the impact would now be quite minimal.
